Inspiring & raising aspirations

In 2022, the city of Liverpool will welcome 550 of the best gymnasts in the world plus officials, judges and fans as we host the 51st FIG World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

The championships provide a fantastic opportunity to inspire and raise aspirations of young people, to be the best they can be. We’re inviting schools and educators to download our WGC2022 Education Pack including cross-curricular resources which will demonstrate how gymnastics and the championships can be used to engage children across a variety of subjects. The resources will provide an ideal way to link with the SMSC Cultural Development strand, participate and respond to sporting and cultural opportunities.

How it works:

  1. Check out our sample content and example lessons, you can download them here
  2. Register for an Education Pack using the form on this page
  3. We'll send you the WGC2022 Education Pack when it launches in January

Download sample content

  • The resource pack will be split into Early Years, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2, Upper Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and SEN provision sections
  • Each resource will state what curriculum area it is linked to
  • Resources will focus on how curriculum subjects are used in the world of gymnastics. E.g. maths techniques to calculate scoring in gymnastics and spoken word confidence through commentating (with tips from a professional)
